Best Coast is an American indie rock band based in Los Angeles, California, and is often categorized under the subgenres of garage rock, surf pop, and lo-fi. The band currently consists of Bethany Cosentino, who writes all of the band's songs and fronts the group, multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno, former Vivian Girls drummer Ali Koehler, and Snacks the cat. Candlebox is a post-grunge band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in November 1991, the band originally went by the name Uncle Duke; they later changed their name purportedly as a tribute to the Midnight Oil song "Tin Legs and Tin Mines" which contained the line "boxed in like candles".
